AI Design Sprint

Participant Guidelines

The student has to develop AI-based solutions that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participant will complete the challenge in 1 hour, working through three main steps:

  1. Problem Selection (Step 1): Choose a real-world problem linked to one or more SDGs.
  2. Solution Design (Step 2): Propose an AI-driven solution. Create simple design materials such as wireframes, mockups, or workflow diagrams that show how your idea will work. Focus on accessibility, inclusivity, and ethical use of AI.
  3. AI & Technical Plan (Step 3): Explain how AI or machine learning will be used in your solution. Describe the models, data, and algorithms involved, and present them in a clear technical diagram or plan.

After completing all three steps, teams will deliver a 5–7 minute presentation to showcase their solution’s design, innovation, AI impact, and sustainability.

Deliverables:

  1. A presentation of the proposed solution
  2. A Word document report explaining the idea, design, and AI plan
